| Steve Edwards is a veterinarian by profession,
qualified from Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge, England. He has
pursued a career in scientific research, gaining a doctorate from the
University of Edinburgh. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of
Liverpool, and previously at the Royal Veterinary College, London. He has
developed an interest in genealogy since the mid-1960s and was greatly
encouraged in this by his late father-in-law, Charles Evans. As well as
his own family history research, which is currently focused on 18th
century sources in Wales and the English midlands, he has taken a
special interest in South American and Spanish genealogy which he worked
on with Charles Evans. He is a member of the
Society of Genealogists,
Birmingham and Midland Society for
Genealogy and Heraldry,
Powys Family History Society and the
Montgomeryshire
Genealogical Society. He was involved with the erstwhile
Family and Local History Indexing Group (FLHIG) whose
web pages are now
hosted by the FMG.
He has been honorary secretary for the Foundation
for Medieval Genealogy since its establishment in 2001, is editor of
its journal 'Foundations'
and also acts as webmaster. |
