Edited by Steven Edwards - Published by the Foundation for Medieval Genealogy, 2003.

Charles EvansCharles Evans, FSA, FSG, was born in 1903. As he tells in his autobiographical account he could not remember a time even as a small boy, when he was not interested in genealogy. He became well known for his medieval scholarship; it was also his life's ambition to take back his own (and later his wife's) ancestry as far as possible along as many lines as possible. He was honoured, for his 80th birthday, by a Tribute of Studies in Genealogy and Family History.

The Foundation for Medieval Genealogy, with the agreement of his family, published this collection of his entire published works to recognise the centenary of Charles Evans' birth. It includes scholarly articles, book reviews, letters to editors, and "notes and queries" (that traditional forerunner to the modern "online discussion forum"). Many of the papers have been scanned from Charles's own copies, which he regularly annotated with corrections, additions and amplifications of particular points.
